Methodology

Evedica provides independent, clinician-led reviews of product ingredients and health-related claims. Our reviews are designed to support clear, responsible communication by assessing whether publicly disclosed information is consistent with current scientific evidence.

All reviews are conducted by UK-registered medical doctors and follow a structured, evidence-led approach.

What we review

Each review considers:

  • Publicly disclosed ingredient lists, as provided by the company or displayed on product labelling

  • Health-related claims used in product descriptions, packaging, or marketing materials

  • Known safety concerns, including toxicity, common adverse effects, and relevant contraindications

  • Regulatory alerts or guidance, where applicable

  • Scientific plausibility, based on the available evidence supporting the stated claims

Evidence sources

Reviews are informed by recognised and established sources, which may include:

  • Peer-reviewed scientific literature

  • Systematic reviews and consensus guidance

  • Regulatory and safety communications

  • Standard clinical and pharmacological reference databases

Evidence is assessed qualitatively, taking into account its relevance, quality, and limitations.

How conclusions are formed

Evedica reviews aim to answer two core questions:

  1. Are there known safety concerns or warnings associated with the listed ingredients when used as described?

  2. Are the stated health-related claims consistent with the current scientific evidence, and are they framed appropriately?

Conclusions represent an independent professional opinion based on information available at the time of review. Scientific understanding evolves, and interpretations may change as new evidence emerges.

What Evedica reviews do not do

Evedica reviews do not:

  • Approve, endorse, or certify products

  • Provide regulatory approval or replace oversight bodies

  • Assess clinical efficacy or treatment outcomes

  • Conduct laboratory testing or evaluate undisclosed formulations

  • Provide individual medical advice

A review should not be interpreted as a guarantee of safety, effectiveness, or regulatory compliance.

Transparency and independence

Evedica reviews are conducted independently and are not influenced by marketing objectives or desired outcomes. Any commercial relationship is disclosed, and review conclusions are based solely on available evidence and professional judgement.

Time-limited nature of reviews

All reviews are time-stamped. Because scientific evidence and regulatory guidance evolve, reviews reflect the state of knowledge at the time they are completed and may require updating in the future. Reviews are time-stamped and typically considered current for a period of up to one year, after which re-review may be appropriate.

Purpose of our methodology

Evedica exists to support responsible, evidence-aware communication. Our methodology is designed to help companies better understand how their products and claims align with current scientific knowledge, while helping consumers navigate health-related information more clearly.
