Frequently Asked Questions
Is this regulatory or MHRA approval?
No. Evedica reviews do not constitute regulatory approval, MHRA authorisation, or certification of any kind. Our reviews provide an independent professional opinion on ingredient safety considerations and claim plausibility based on available scientific evidence at the time of review.
Does Evedica approve or endorse products?
No. Evedica does not approve, endorse, recommend, or certify products. We assess publicly disclosed ingredients and health-related claims and provide an independent, clinician-led review to support responsible communication.
Who conducts the reviews?
Reviews are conducted by UK-registered medical doctors using established scientific literature and recognised evidence sources. Reviews are clinician-led and follow a documented methodology.
Our reviewers are practising medical doctors with training from leading UK universities.
What types of products can be reviewed?
Evedica may review products that include health-related claims, such as wellness products, supplements, skincare, and consumer health products. Products making claims to treat or prevent disease, or products requiring formal regulatory authorisation, may not be suitable for review.
If you are unsure whether your product is appropriate, we encourage you to contact us before proceeding.
What information do you review?
We review:
-
Publicly disclosed ingredient lists
-
Health-related claims used in product descriptions or marketing
-
Relevant safety alerts, contraindications, and guidance
-
Scientific evidence relevant to the stated claims
We do not assess undisclosed ingredients, proprietary formulations, or conduct laboratory testing.
Does a review guarantee safety or effectiveness?
No. Evedica reviews do not guarantee safety, effectiveness, or regulatory acceptance. Reviews reflect an independent professional opinion based on available evidence at the time and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of outcomes.
Can we say “doctor approved” or similar wording?
No. Language implying approval, endorsement, recommendation, or certification should not be used.
Will an Evedica review protect us from ASA complaints?
While no review can prevent complaints entirely, an independent, documented, evidence-aware review may help companies demonstrate that claims have been considered responsibly and in good faith. Evedica does not guarantee regulatory outcomes.
How long is a review valid for?
Reviews are time-stamped and reflect the scientific evidence available at the time they are completed. Companies may choose to request re-review, typically on an annual basis, particularly where claims or evidence change.
We offer a subscription service for automatic re-review and issue of an up to date certificate at a discounted rate.
Is this medical advice?
No. Evedica reviews are not medical advice and should not be relied upon for individual health decisions. Our work is intended to support responsible communication, not personal clinical decision-making.
How do we get started?
You can contact us via the website to discuss your product and claims. Initial discussions are exploratory and do not commit you to a review.
